Deep Tissue Massage - Loganville, GA

A deep tissue massage is a type of massage that is aimed at working the deeper tissue structures of the muscles and connective tissue. While very similar in technique to a swedish massage, greater pressure is applied to the target areas. Deep tissue massages are often targeted to specific problem areas to address chronic muscle tension, or knots. By targeting muscle knots your therapist will be able to loosen the knots in these problem areas, and leave your feeling much more relaxed.

Many people express concern that a deep tissue massage may hurt and this should never be a case. While a deep tissue massage by necessity will use more pressure than a traditional swedish massage, the pressure should never rise to the point of pain. In fact if the level of pressure is more than you are comfortable with it can cause you to unconsciously tense up, which will make it harder to achieve results.

Swedish Massage - Loganville, GA

A Swedish Massage is the type of Massage most people think of when they hear the word Massage. These massages can be slow and gentle, or faster with greater pressure depending on your therapist’s technique, your personal preferences, and the goal of the massage. Before a massage your therapist will review with you any conditions or injuries they should be aware of. Any areas that feel tight, or sore, as well as any conditions they should be aware of should also be discussed. The more information you provide to your therapist the better your massage can be.

Once your therapist has a clear picture of what you are looking for, as well as any areas they need to work on your massage can begin. Massage oil is applied to your skin to help with the gliding movements of the massage strokes that will be used. Each stroke is designed to target specific muscles and muscle groups. This releases tension, and will break up muscle knots and adhered tissue. A well performed swedish massage will leave you feeling relaxed, and more limber.
